Meditation Tips For Beginners
By : Unknown
If you have never performed meditation
session before, you can deal with some unwanted and frustrating matters. Maybe
we have ever heard about several exciting benefits and useful relaxation from
the regular meditation, yet we are
sitting cross-legged in the quiet place and wonder when the magic will start.
Are we missing something?
The
answer will be absolutely "Yes". Like anything else around the world,
meditative state takes much practice, effort and time.
Anyone who has been meditating frequently for many years can slip into a trace
with a little bit of experience. However, that can be the result of
self-training. As the beginner, it will not be unlikely that we will experience
any profound enlightenment or the super-deep relaxation state. We can not even
see any specific advantage from the process of meditation till we have a couple of sessions under our belt.
Some
valuable meditative tips for you – the beginner
Set
the suitable scene
Don't
be hesitant to spend time in looking for a place where we can remain undisturbed till we complete Meditation session. Keep in mind that
this place should be quiet and private
with a comfortable temperature.
Don't forget to prepare a room for sitting. Some people can meditate while
reclining on the comfy chair or couch. Nevertheless, we will not need a
comfortable room to fall asleep easily. As the beginner, cross-legged sitting
on the floor can be the best choice.
If
possible, we can sit on a cushion, a blanket or towel on the floor. Now, here
is a right time for us to dim the lights and remove any glare which is bright
enough to see via our closed eyelids. If we like, we are also allowed to play
music. However, it will be a wise idea for us to open instrumental music since lyrics can be distracting. Natural
noise is also ideal.
Prepare ourselves
Spend
a few seconds in loosening up and making ourselves comfortable. The
objective here is to relax. Now, don't hold back from loosening our clothing,
taking our shoes off and having a great stretch. Don't forget to roll our
shoulders many times in each direction, circle our arms, lean our head from
side to side as well as bend over at the hips.
Try
our best
Sit
down and get comfortable. There are two things we should keep in mind during
the process of meditation: Don't
slouch and don't force ourselves into any unnaturally rigid posture. Now, here
will be a time to close eyes and
breathe. Every time we inhale, count "One". Similarly, every
time we exhale, count "One". Always focus on our breath. When we do
this, our body will begin to relax, and our attention can be centered in our
mind.
Come
back
As
soon as we feel fully centered in our mind, enable ourselves to slowly come back to the real life.
Don't forget to wiggle our fingers, toes and wake our body up. Open the eyes
and remain this posture for a couple of minutes when our senses turn back, and
then slowly stand up.
In
the brief conclusion, these above little tips will be great pieces of advice
for everyone on relaxing your physical and mental mind to absorb and feel the
natural movements and energy with meditation. Magic will appear after
practicing this marvelous method.
The
truth is that the process of Meditation
requires much effort and time. To enhance the Meditation session well, people have to know the ways to prepare
their bodies, find the appropriate places and set their intention.
Simple Meditation Tips And Techniques
By : Unknown
Like anything new, if you're just
starting to meditate it can seem a bit daunting at first. There are all sorts
of different meditation techniques
available. Which one is the best to start with? Will it be easy for a beginner
yet still suitable as you gain more experience with meditating? So many
questions! Here are some simple meditation
tips and techniques to help you to solve the puzzle for yourself.

Set
aside some time
Whilst
this may sound obvious, it's absolutely essential to schedule in some meditation time into your life.
If
you need formal help with doing this then it may be best to enrol in a local
class, then at least you've spent some money which should - in turn - encourage
you to attend the classes.
If
you've got a bit more discipline then a home study course will likely work fine
for you.
You'll
probably already know the best way to set aside time in your life so make sure
you apply it to the meditation side
of things as well.
Experiment
Meditating
isn't a "one size fits all" habit.
Some
people like the formality of things such as focussing on a candle flame or
chanting a mantra out loud over and over again. Other people prefer to use a
breathing meditation, which can be
one of the easiest techniques to start with. There are also plenty of guided meditations available to download.
Or
you may prefer to take your conscious mind out of the equation and use a
binaural beats meditation to shift
your brainwave patterns to the correct level with near enough no effort on your
part.
So
don't be afraid to use trial and error to get the best meditation experience for you.
Get
a quiet place
This
is just as important as setting aside the time for your session.
A
quiet place means somewhere you won't be disturbed (although if you're doing a
walking meditation this isn't a
requirement).
A
"do not disturb" sign on your door could help if your friends and
family are disruptive.
Turning
off your cell phone is also useful as phones have that annoying habit of
ringing just at the wrong moment, as though they have a built-in monitor just
for that purpose.
Don't
expect instant change
We're
usually the last people to notice change in ourselves. And that applies to the
changes that will be brought about by regular meditation just as much as any other area of our lives.
Don't
expect to have one or two meditation
sessions and be instantly transformed.
Apart
from the worrying nature of that idea, it just isn't going to happen.
This
is a process for the medium to long term. Not necessarily the lifetime of
practice that a Zen monk commits to but definitely not a two week "just
before the vacation" diet either.
The chances are that people you only meet
occasionally will notice the difference quicker than you do. Because small,
subtle, changes aren't the easiest things to spot. But the important thing is
to start using the best meditation
technique for you rather than put things off until tomorrow.Meditation in the Mind

More and more
these days we see countless recommendations to practice the age old art
and science of meditation. Most, if not all, extol its seemingly
magical power on the human psyche through its purported benefits. These
recommendations and claims have stood the test of time- they are
universally accepted and well justified. For eons past those who came
before us have spoken volumes regarding this great gift we all posses
but today sometimes, we neglect to use. Why now are we again reminded of
this?
All of us are participating either aware or unaware. in a
quantum shift bringing at times, tumultuous changes in all areas of our
society and world structures. No one is exempt from the effects these
rapid changes bring. While universally experienced, these
trans-formative energies are individually unique and processed
differently depending on a person's outlook. With a little discipline
and practice we can apply this gift of meditation to help balance stress
levels, reduce mind-movies which seem to play nonstop to bring
increasing levels of joy, clarity and purpose into life.
While
it's true that meditative practices are known by many names in virtually
all cultures each with various forms of practice, finding one that will
work for you is quite easy. Best of all, this gently leads us
ultimately to a special place we often desire and want- greater
understanding and acceptance to life's mysteries.
So, let's
briefly explore the subject for the sole purpose of learning how to reap
many beneficial rewards available through meditation. Besides, it is
true, the best things in life are free. So let us begin to clear our
minds of useless, wayward abstract thoughts having no justification to
control or dictate our life's direction. We will find meditation allows
you in the purest sense, to create your own life's experiences. (More
discussion about that possibility a bit later). For now, consider that
during meditation you can replace, and clear out unwanted thoughts with
life affirming versions gaining- a true, lasting peace of mind, body and
soul. Meditation is your gateway offering all that and more...you can
even create some magic in your life through this simple process!
As
you may have heard or if you are already a dedicated practitioner,
individuals report profound psychological, physical and spiritual
well-being as they practice meditation daily. What then is meditation
really all about? For beginners, how can one start? And how far can I go
with sincere dedication? In this article are going to examine a few
areas- some historical background, benefits, science of the mind and
advanced possibilities.
